NEET 2020 Exam Date Sheet

NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) 2020 exam date was declared by the NTA (National Testing Agency) on date 22 August 2019. As per the official Admission Notification and Application form released on date 2 December 2019. NEET 2020 Exam date sheet is released by the National Testing Agency and the date of counseling Will released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). As per the notification, NEET 2020 Exam Date sheet held on 3rd May 2020. NEET 2020 online application closed by the Date of 6th January 2020. NEET 2020 Admit Card link will be activated by the National Testing Agency on 27 March 2020. Candidates NEET 2020 Registration will be able to download the Admit Card on NTA Official website.

April 10, 2020NTA has issued a notification regarding the scope of changing the exam city in the NEET 2020 Exam Date sheet application form. The notice has been shared by HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on his social media handle.

NEET 2020 Eligibility

NEET 2020 Eligibility Criteria has been set by the National Testing Agency. All Candidate test takers are expected to fulfill all the criteria. Otherwise, they will be subjected to rejection. Candidates should keep this in mind while applying for NEET. In order to apply for NEET, Candidates should have qualified in Class 12 or an equivalent exam, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects.

NTA has set the Minimum and Maximum age limit for a candidate to be eligible to take the NEET 2020 exam.

  • The maximum age limit for NEET 2020 is 25 years and 30 years in the case of Reserved category test-takers. Candidates must have completed 17 years of age to be eligible to apply for the NEET 2020 examination.
  • All Indian and OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) candidates whose age is below 25 years (General and OBC candidates)/ 30 years (Reserved categories) at the time of admission are also eligible for NEET 2020 exam.

NEET 2020 All India Quota Seats

NEET 2020 Three types of seats available at any medical college across India. Of those three types, one is admission through NEET and these are called NEET All India Quota seats. A total of 15% of the seats will be reserved in this quota. Candidates who are taking the NEET Exam are competing for this 15% of seats in all the medical colleges across India. All applicants must note that students can apply for JIPMER and AIIMS using a valid NEET Score.

In this 15% of the seats, NTA has set reservation criteria and details of which is in the following table:

NEET 2020 Eligibility for J&K Students

Jammu and Kashmir Students are not eligible for NEET because J&K state has opted out of NEET since NEET’s inception. But if candidates from J&K are willing to take NEET then they have to submit self-declaration at the time of registration. This self-declaration will be verified during counseling and if it is found to false then the candidate will be rejected.

The declaration which the candidates should abide by are:

  • He/She is not eligible to appear for MBBS/BDS seats in the State of J&K State and hence not eligible to seek admission in Medical/Dental Colleges of State of J&K.
  • He or she must not be a domicile of the State of J&K.
  • He/she must have declared all these by understanding the rules and its implications.

The aspirant will be subjected to rejection if the above-mentioned details are found to be false.

NEET 2020 Syllabus

The conducting body of NEET 2020 will test the knowledge of students in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Hence NEET 2020 Syllabus will have topics from class 11th and 12th curriculum. NEET 2020 syllabus has been prescribed by NTA. The curriculum prepared by the Council Board of School Education, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) are considered while designing the syllabus for NEET 2020.

State Syllabus: Apart from CBSE’s curriculum, the NEET 2020 Syllabus is prepared after reviewing various state syllabus.

NEET 2020 Exam Pattern

Every candidate should be aware of NEET Paper Pattern as it helps in planning and preparation for the exam. Some of the important details are:

Every right answer in NEET 2020 will fetch the candidate 4 marks and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. NEET 2020 will be a pen and paper-based (offline) test. NEET 2020 examination will consist of one paper having 180 (45 from every subject/section), objective type questions which will count to a total of 720 marks. NEET 2020 question paper will be in English and will be conducted for 3 hours. The NEET 2020 exam pattern is expected to remain the same every year.

NEET 2020 Admit Card

Admit card will be available on the Official Website from April 15, 2020. Only those candidates who have completed the registration process along with fee payment can download their admit card. NEET 2020 Admit Card will contain all the details about the examination and the candidate information. Candidates should carry a valid ID proof along with their admit card to the examination hall.

Note: Candidates who fail to produce admit card or ID Proof upon request in the exam hall will not be allowed to take up the exam.

How to download NEET 2020 Admit Card?

Steps to download NEET 2020 admit card are as following:

  • Step 1: Visit NTA’s official website.
  • Step 2: Click on “Admit Card NEET (UG)” on the left bottom.
  • Step 3: Enter the necessary details which are Registration Number, Date of Birth, and Security Pin.
  • Step 4: Now, you will be redirected to a screen where your Admit Card will be displayed.
  • Step 5: You can download the admit card and take a printout in the A4 size sheet.

NEET 2020 Exam Centres

Candidates will be required to select the exam center of their preference and which is convenient for them during the application process. They can select 3 exam cities while choosing their preferences. The exam center in the city will be allotted based on the availability of seats. If there is no available center that can accommodate this candidate then the next exam city will be considered for allotment of the exam center. There is a good chance of candidates getting an exam center which is closely and convenient for them since the NEET 2020 Exam Centres are spread all over the country. Since there are colleges that offer class XI and class XII in vernacular languages, NTA gives candidates to write NEET in some selected vernacular language in selected exam centers.

Note:

  • Metal Detectors in Exam Centres: It has been instructed by NTA to install metal detectors in every exam center for security purposes. There must be at least one detector for 100 students.
  • Test Centres in Tamil Nadu: The Supreme Court has denied the request for an increase of NEET Exam Centres in Tamil Nadu for 2020. Students from Tamil Nadu have to go to Kerala to appear for the exam just like the NEET 2018 exam.

NEET 2020 Results

The result for NEET will be declared on June 4, 2020. Admission into medical and dental colleges for MBBS and BDS will be done on the basis of marks scored by the candidates in the entrance exam. NTA will be releasing the Merit List after the declaration of the NEET 2020 Result. This list is only for candidates who opt for 15% All India Quota Seats in their Application form. For the remaining candidates, counseling will be conducted on the basis of their All India Ranks.

Note: It is advisable that the candidates download and print a few copies of the scorecard.
