Past Continuous Tense:- रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे

Past Continuous Tense Structure:- subject+was/were+1st verb+ing+object

Past Continuous Tense Remember Points:-

Past Continuous Tense:- He, she, it and singular noun along with “was” and we they and plural noun along with “were” use.
Was:- he, she, it, I and singular noun
Were:- they, you, we, plural noun.
In a negative sentence we use “was not/were not” after the subject.

A.Simple:-

Structure:- subject+was/were+1st verb+ing+object

EXAMPLE:-

बारिश हो रही थी- its was raining.
हम कल खाना खा रहे थे- we were eating food yesterday.
वह घर जा रहा था- he was going home.

B.Negative:-

Structure:- Subject+was/were+not+1st verb+ing+object

EXAMPLE:-

वह कल यहां नहीं आ रही थी- she was not coming here yesterday.
वे कल वहां नहीं जा रहे थे- they were not going there yesterday.
वह नहीं सीख रही थी- she was not learning.

Structure:- was/were+subject+1st verb+ing+object

EXAMPLE:-

क्या वह कल अंग्रेजी सीख रही थी?- was she learning English yesterday?
क्या वह कल यहां आ रहा था?- was he coming here yesterday?
मैं शाम को सो रहा था?- was i sleeping in evening?

D.Questions negative:-

Structure:- was/were+subject+not+1st verb+ing+object

EXAMPLE:-

शाम को नींद नहीं आ रही थी?- was were not sleeping in the evening?
क्या वे बाजार नहीं जा रहे थे?- were they not going to market?
क्या वह परीक्षा में पास नहीं हो रही थी?- was she not passing in the exam?
